Rule 7.3 – Lifting Ball to Identify It

– When a ball needs to be identified, the ball must always be marked first, even if it is simply rotated to identify

– Failure to do so results in a 1-shot penalty. This is one of the most frequently broken rules in golf (!)

– All players should use a marker pen to add an identification mark to their ball

– Whilst we are playing under preferred lies, please remember the ball must be marked prior to preferring
