Ever wondered who is behind the phone or your email? Well, now you get to meet them!
Karen is our Acting Secretary and deals with a wide range of administrative queries, whether that be a golf society booking or a member’s request. She is helped by Darren, our Finance Officer, who also deals with accounting procedures and queries. Finally, we have Megan who is our Marketing Manager and manages all of our advertising and promotional activities. She is behind the keyboard on our social media channels and also helps out with any golf or clubhouse events.
The whole office team is always on hand to help you with any golf, event, or membership query, and look forward to meeting you soon.
Stuart is the head PGA Fellow Professional at Abergele Golf Club (pictured right) and devotes his time and energy to providing the very best stocked Pro Shop in North Wales. Stuart’s knowledge and experience means we have the latest knowledge and golfing expertise here at Abergele to help you. His team consists of Assistant PGA Professional Adam Runcie (pictured left) who has had an exceptional career in playing the game to a very high standard, winning a EuroPro event in 2016. Adam leads our Newbie Golf Programme and develops new players to the game. Lauren Howorth is another member of our Pro Shop who has just qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. She helps out part-time and is always on hand to answer any queries you may have. One of her strengths is her standard of golf, playing to a handicap of 5.
Our greens staff team is headed by Course Manager Gareth Jones, who takes great pride in producing a course that is playable all year round, with well-manicured fairways and greens. Gareth, Yoyo, Greg and Owen’s faultless commitment ensures that our members and visitors enjoy their round, time and time again. They do a fantastic job looking after our Course every day, come rain or shine. A lot of their brilliant work often goes unnoticed. On behalf of all of us at Abergele Golf Club, thank you so much for all that you do.
Our front-of-house team offers a warm welcome with refreshments and all are served with a friendly face. Headed by our Bar Manager Katie Gorman, Katie keeps our bar well stocked with a wide range of beveridges, including non-alcoholic options to suit all tastes. Both Katie and her team are always on hand to pour you a drink after a game on the course.
Abergele Golf Club has been running for over 100 years and it wouldn’t have been the same journey if it wasn’t for the time, effort and passion given by our staff members and volunteers. We would like to take this opportunity to give a huge thank you to all of our staff and volunteers for their dedicated and tireless efforts to make the Abergele Golf Club family what it is today. From helping decorate our clubhouse to events, to helping out on the course, we are always looking for people to help keep Abergele Golf Club running smoothly. We have a variety of ways for you to get involved throughout the year and are always grateful for any time or support that you are able to give.
