It’s been a busy week for the Greenkeepers. All greens were hollocored, verdict, top dressed and rolled. The playing surface of the greens need a few more days to settle and will be rolled until the surface is running true.
We initially planned to complete the greens on Monday however, with a little help from our friends of Lindsat Fisher, Ged Condron, Paul Jones, Paul Duffy, John Hatcher, Dewi Roberts, John Percy Hughes, Matthew Lindquist and Martin Thomas; they accelerated our plans that enabled us to complete the task ahead of schedule. We plan to fertilise the greens on Monday and this will aid their recovery whilst putting them in a good position for the winter.
The leaves are quickly falling and we’ve been unable to spend the adequate time to control the leaves on the ground. I can only apologies as the greens maintenance required the vast majority of our working week.
For this weekend, all 18 main tees are in play. Buggies users, please use the path at the back of the 17th green towards the 18th tee. I also want to stress the importance of not parking buggies too close to the greens. There are a number of tyre marks within metres of greens. Please respect the ground as it is becoming softer and show consideration for your fellow golfers by not driving buggies on the aprons
We hope you enjoy the weekend before the weather changes on Monday!
