COVID-19 SAFE GOLF GUIDELINES – UPDATE AS OF 31ST MAY 2020 Following the Welsh Government announcement on Thursday 29th May 2020, the following guidelines will come into force from Monday 1st June 2020. Please note that all the information on this page is subject to change due to Welsh Government announcements. We will keep you informed of any changes. All guidelines outlined previously remain in force. WHAT IS THE NEW ‘LOCAL TRAVEL GUIDANCE’? “As a general rule for most people anything within about five miles of your home is considered local” CAN I PLAY GOLF WITH PEOPLE OUTSIDE MY HOUSEHOLD? “Members of two separate households can meet outdoors at any one time as long as they stay local and maintain social distancing” Taking the above into consideration, the following groupings will be allowed when playing golf and when travel is ‘local’: Single: • Individuals playing golf on their own Two balls: • Two players from one household • Two players from different households Play in groups of three or four-balls will be permitted: Three balls: • Three players from one household • Two players from one household with one from another household Four Balls: • Four players from one household • Two players from one household with two from another household • One player from one household and three from another household PLEASE NOTE: physical distancing guidelines and industry guidelines must be adhered to before, during and after the round. Any deliberate failure by a member to follow the conditions outlined will result in immediate suspension from the Club, and a disciplinary hearing will follow. These guidelines may be subject to change in line with any future announcements made by the Welsh Government. IN ADVANCE OF PLAY • If you feel unwell or display any symptoms, stay at home and do not visit Abergele Golf Club. • You must pre-book your tee-time before attending (currently open to members only). • Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes before your tee time. • Wash your hands before leaving home and upon arrival, regular use of your own hand sanitiser is advisable. • No toilet facilities or locker rooms will be open during this time. • No caddies are allowed during this time. • There will be 10 minute intervals between each member teeing off (times – 7am to 8pm). • Social distancing rules will apply at all times – you must keep 2 metres apart. • Putting green, practice ground and nets will be closed until further notice. • Use of the course is entirely at your own risk. DURING PLAY • Social distancing (keeping 2 metres apart) must be adhered to, in line with guidance from the Welsh Government. • Do not continue to play until the course in front of you is clear. • Do not pick up anybody else’s ball at any time. • Please do not approach green keeping staff at any time. • Rakes have been removed from the course at present. Members can lift and place in the bunker. • Flags must remain in the hole. Please do not touch it at any time. • Please avoid handling any hazard markers. These will be treated as immovable obstructions. • Benches, ball washers nor bins will be in use. • During these temporary measures, no competitions will be taking place, therefore please do not mark a card. • Competitions will resume when safe to do so. • At the end of your round, please leave Abergele Golf Club immediately to avoid any unnecessary social contact. THE PRO SHOP The pro shop remains closed until further notice. WARNING We have been advised by Wales Golf that these are the conditions under which the club should continue to operate. Failure on the club’s part may result in closure once again. Any member deliberately failing to adhere to the conditions stipulated will face immediate suspension from the club and will be subject to a disciplinary hearing.
